1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Cangaru ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our browser extension and related services.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication data (e.g., via Google or email/password).

Usage data: We may collect usage data such as feature usage, extension version, and error logs to improve the Service.

Content you store: If you use cloud sync (Premium), we store your notes, bookmarks, and related data on our servers to provide sync across devices. Free tier: Your notes and bookmarks are stored only on your device (browser storage); we do not store them in our database.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Paddle (our payment provider). We do not store full payment details; Paddle may collect billing information as needed.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Service, process payments, authenticate you, communicate with you, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Data Storage and Security

For cloud sync users, your data is stored on our infrastructure (Supabase and related services). Cloud sync data is encrypted so that your notes and bookmarks are protected at rest. We use industry-standard security practices. Data may be stored in regions as required for our operations. Free tier users' content is stored only locally on your device and is never sent to our servers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with third-party service providers (e.g., Supabase, Paddle, OpenAI for Clarify) only as necessary to provide the Service. These providers are bound by their own privacy and security commitments.

6. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your account and data. You can export your data or request deletion by contacting us. For EU users, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and portability.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication and session management. Our website may use cookies to remember your preferences.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email.

10. Contact
